Make booking consultations easier for freelancers and tutors
Give clients or students a clear appointment type, useful preparation notes, and an easy path from booking to conversation.
A useful booking page answers three questions: what is this appointment for, how long does it last, and how will we meet? That clarity helps a new client or student choose a suitable time without another round of messages.
Offer a clearly named appointment
A freelancer might offer a “Project introduction,” while a tutor could offer a “First lesson discussion.” In a new calendar, describe the purpose and choose a duration that matches it.
Keep the description practical. Say what you plan to cover and what the visitor should prepare. For example: “Bring one question about the project and the deadline you are working toward.” Avoid asking for sensitive documents in a booking note.
Leave room to prepare
Set weekly hours you can reliably keep. Add time between meetings for notes or preparation, and block days off before sharing the calendar. If you need to assess whether a request is suitable, enable approval and explain that the booking needs confirmation.
Use separate calendars for different appointment types when helpful, within your account’s available calendar capacity. Review them together so the hours you offer remain realistic.
Make the next step obvious
Choose the location when setting up the calendar: an lcl.live call, an external meeting link, or instructions for meeting by phone or in person. Check the confirmed booking email so you know what information your visitor receives.
For scheduled lcl.live meetings, guests should use the meeting link from their booking email. For an immediate conversation, start a call and share its room link instead.
Before sharing your calendar more widely, open its booking page and read it as a first-time visitor. The scheduling guide provides a step-by-step check.
