Browser calls

Start a browser voice call with one link

Create a room, choose how long it stays open, and invite one person to talk on lcl.live without installing a calling app.

A short conversation can clear up what would otherwise become a long message thread. A browser call is useful when you want to discuss one question, check a detail with a client, or catch up with a colleague.

Create a room when you are ready

Open Start a call and sign in. Choose the connection mode and how long the room should remain available. The timer starts when you create the room, so choose enough time for the other person to arrive as well as for the conversation.

You can also choose a custom link before starting. Keep it simple and avoid putting personal information in the address. Create the room shortly before you intend to use it.

Share the link and join

  1. Copy the call link from the room.
  2. Send it directly to the person you want to speak with.
  3. Keep the room open and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
  4. Ask the other person to open the link and complete any sign-in step shown.

Once both people are ready, the call connects automatically. The status shows whether you are still waiting or connected. Connection details are available if you want to check them, without filling the whole screen.

Plan for the end of the conversation

Use End call when you are finished. If the room expires, create a new one and send the new link. A room link is for a particular conversation; avoid treating it as a permanent meeting address.

For a conversation next week, use a booking calendar instead of creating a room now. Read how to let clients choose a time to set up the invitation in advance.
